Would people be interesting in me doing a talk on Elastasearch / LogStash / Kibana (ELK) with some graphana fun through in for good measure? I spoke with my buddy Nick about doing a crypto talk but he's going to be too busy in Feb. to do it. You might need to hit the power switch on the back... trying to remember if it was a toggle, or a hard on/off switch. The U2 has a toggle... U5/U10 is hard on/off. Cannot remember the U1 switch. Sorry. Ebay to the rescue! It's a toggle switch on the back for power. No front panel power switch. Anyway, with the power connected and the power switch pressed, what happens? Does the CPU fan spin? If not, you're going to need to replace it first off. If the fan wiggles but does not spin when you power on the system, try reaching in and giving it a twist, it might then start spinning, but not likely. You should hear some beeps and boops at this point, time to dig up old manuals and see what they say for trouble shooting. But honestly, just toss it and get a BeagleBone of Raspberry Pi to play with instead. WLUG Meeting Jan. 14th @7pm WPI Mid century Room (rm 331)

Hey Gang, Sorry for the late email, it's been hectic at my end of things. Here are the facts! Date & Time: January 17th, 2016 @ 7PM Location: WPI Student Center Mid Century Room (rm 331) Topic: None* *There's currently no topic ... I contemplated talking, but never got stuff together. Due to a scheduling conflict, I'll be unable to attend... so if someone else would like to step up for snacks and refreshments that would be quite helpful. I know people had a busy holidays, so my plan *was* for this to just be a general meeting anyway. We can get our heads around what we'd like for speakers for the coming year. My hope is to get my buddy Nick to do a deep dive talk about encryption in February. I know Greg had mentioned speaking about setting up a radio station. Please submit any suggestions! Hmm... maybe they have some newer code elsewhere? I'm not sure how I could help at this point, beyond trying to compile the code with debug info and then pulling it into gdb to get a backtrace. I suspect you'll have to ask on the mailing list for dream, since what I see on the web page implies that network stuff works... but not sure. I would think that dream could just pull the data directly from the radio itself, to cut out the middle man here.
