Hi,
Anyone on here using Charter Telephone VOIP service? I've currently
got Verizon, but the wife hates it because our phone lines get flaky
all the time, esp when it rains.
So I'm thinking to save money and combine all my stuff onto Charter.
I've already got High Speed internet and regular old cable. Not wild
about Digital Cable since I'm happy with Tivo and I don't want yet
another set top box to have to deal with...
So, any horror stories about Charter Phone VOIP quality and service?
Thanks,
John
To everybody who attended last night, thanks! Maddog educated and
entertained us with the Linaro and Cacu projects and regaled us with lots
of humorous computer history.
Jon, thanks for being a great presenter! You're welcome back to speak
anytime!
Next up Andy will be giving a talk in January about Mesh networking.
If anybody has a topic they'd like to speak about or something they're
interested in learning about, let me know!
Thanks,
Tim.

Have we come up with a way to split the pizza bill on credit cards or
should I still plan on getting cash? Not a big deal, but I thought I'd ask.

Hello,
I am the speaker for tonight's meeting. Even though the weather has been
bad for three days, it seems to be clearing for tonight,
and I just wanted to make sure that there would be a meeting tonight.
The topics for tonight are two:
Title: GNU/Linux Performance: We are not in 1969 (or even 1984) anymore
Abstract: Performance in software is not just how fast it executes in wall
clock time, but how efficient it is in memory and CPU cycles. It determines
battery life, how "green" a solution can be, and even if a particular
solution is fast enough for "real time".
This talk will examine these areas, show progress of software and hardware
over time, demonstrate someHello,

building a business
Abstract: While many universities are either free of tuition or give full
scholarships, many students can not take advantage of them because they
need money for an apartment, food, transportation, books, equipment and
other things. Project Caua will show you how to make enough money in your
spare time so you can afford to go to university.
If, for any reason, the meeting is canceled I would appreciate an email

Hey Everybody,
The next WLUG meeting is tomorrow night in the mid century room (rm 331) at
7pm.
The planned speaker is Jon "Maddog" Hall.
Afterwards we'll all head out for pizza.
Later,
Tim.

Hey Everybody,
There's a meeting scheduled for Wednesday at 7pm rm 331. Be there or get
your geek cards revoked!
I know there's inclement weather predicted for Tuesday, so it should be all
clear by Wednesday night. However if things change and it looks like the
roads will be a mess, we'll reassess.
Unless the plans change, Jon "maddog" Hall will be giving a talk!
Thanks,
Tim.

Hey Everybody,
I erroneously sent out email with the wrong date...
The meeting is Thursday, December 11th @7pm in the usual place.
Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks,
Tim.

Hey Everybody,
Just a reminder that we've got a meeting on December 11th.
The planned speaker is going to be John "Maddog" Hall. I *believe* he'll
be speaking about the "Linaro" project among other things.
Like usual, refreshments and snacks will be provided. The meeting will
take place in the Mid-Century room (rm. 331) starting at 7pm. Afterwards
we'll gorge ourselves on pizza.
Thanks,
Tim.
