Hi,
Anyone on here using Charter Telephone VOIP service? I've currently
got Verizon, but the wife hates it because our phone lines get flaky
all the time, esp when it rains.
So I'm thinking to save money and combine all my stuff onto Charter.
I've already got High Speed internet and regular old cable. Not wild
about Digital Cable since I'm happy with Tivo and I don't want yet
another set top box to have to deal with...
So, any horror stories about Charter Phone VOIP quality and service?
Thanks,
John

Well that saddens me. I was hoping there'd be a meeting despite me.
As for the BBQ I'd like to have it next month if at all possible, barring
that having it in autumn worked out really well last year.
I'll think up some dates and put them out. The one person I REALLY want to
attend is Andy, so Andy since I know you read the mailing list, let me know
what works for you and I'll engineer it so. Maddog, that counts for you as
well.
I'm going to start planning an *actual* list of topics as well.
Later,
Tim.

I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their
constituents as "consumers".
I think a lot of us had other commitments last night, I know I did. In other news, did we ever figure out when and where for the BBQ?
Thank you,

Well, that didn't work out so well.
I went to the location at the time, but there was not
only no topic, but no meeting really. Only one other
person was there. He said he is not on the mailing
list and so did not get the cancellation notice.
I said I am on the mailling list and did not
get any such notice. We talked about stuff for
half an hour and then went about our respective
businesses.
He gave me his email address, and asked to be put
on the mailing list. I can't do that, but will
the powers that fade in and out of being please
add the following address to the WLUG mailing
list:
KB0996(a)hotmail.com

PS: not what I expected, but no disaster either.
Hey Gang,
Our next meeting is going to be July 13th 2017.
Location: WPI Campus center MidCentury Room (rm 331)
Topic: Currently no topic.
I'm going to be on vacation and will miss this meeting.
Thanks,
Tim.

I live under the flight path --hardly ever hear anything coming or going at
night; never anything of commercial size. Occasional prop plane; rare baby
jet. I think they have mostly daytime operations up there.
But again, who/what company shuts down their routers and the other stuff,
just to go back the next day and boot it all up again. That makes zippo
sense to me.

Thanks, Eric!
Incidentally, the airport does, apparently, close sometimes. I haven't
figured out where the hours are posted.
