Hi,
Anyone on here using Charter Telephone VOIP service? I've currently
got Verizon, but the wife hates it because our phone lines get flaky
all the time, esp when it rains.
So I'm thinking to save money and combine all my stuff onto Charter.
I've already got High Speed internet and regular old cable. Not wild
about Digital Cable since I'm happy with Tivo and I don't want yet
another set top box to have to deal with...
So, any horror stories about Charter Phone VOIP quality and service?
Thanks,
John

I would be interested to learn the compiler options
needed to build a mass that both swirls and stares.

I'm interested in hesring about GFS, and have been interested since I
started compiling my own kernels and saw the option. Talk away!

Hey Gang,
Our next meeting is the 9th!
I've been doing some interesting work on the clustering filesystem GFS2 if
people would be interested in that... iscsi/iser infiniband using a 100gb
file in tmpfs on one machine as a filesystem device on three other machines.
So, I can talk cogently about setting up icsi, setting up gfs2 and about
tuning such a thing. I also wrote a filesystem testing tool called "death
by infinite paper cuts" to iterat
I've still got my git methodology slides if people are interested in that
as well.
I was given a kinect to play with. Though I've got two weeks I might be
able to do something interesting with that!
Lastly if anybody wants to present on something cool they're working on,
let me know!
Later,
Tim.

WTF? (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday?)
According to my calculations, checked by computer:

twelve is equal to seventeen, NOT.
Jan 12 is tomorrow, Jan 17 is next Tuesday.
I think 12 is right. What do you think?

Hey Gang,
This is a reminder that there's a WLUG meeting January 17th, 2017!
Here's all the vital details!
Topic: How To Pick A Single Board Compuer
Speaker: Jon "maddog" Hall
Time: 7pm
Location: Campus Center Room 331 "Mid Century Room"
While in the near past there were few choices when it came to "SBC" single
board computers, that's not the case anymore.
Now there's a whole cornucopia of choices and architectures.
Thankfully, Jon "Maddog" Hall is going to get help navigate the myriad of
choices.
Like always expect his talk to be educational and hilarious!
Snacks and refreshments will be provided and as always they'll be pizza
down at Tech to continue the conversation.
Thanks,
Tim.
P.S. I'll be unable to attend this meeting due to a prior engagement.
