[OT]Seeing SCSI devices in Solaris

Hi All, This may a bit [OT], but ... At work we have several Sparc servers running Solaris 10u8 that are connected to storage arrays via fiber cables and switches. Some of these hosts can have thousands of connections and can take hours to boot! Does anyone know a way to view the scsi connections in Solaris? In RedHat, I can do a cat /proc/scsi/scsi and see the connections. How can I do this in Solaris? devfsadm doesn't seem to give me what I want, and Google doesn't provide too much help. TIA, -Chuck

We have a meeting coming up on Thursday, February 11th in that meeting room next to the Morgan Hall dining center. It is very close to the former Access Grid room where we used to meet. If anybody is interested in leading the discussion or giving a presentation, please let me know, or just bring it to the meeting. If I know in advance, I'll announce it on the website - this often attracts more people to the meeting. Our last meeting was rather lightly attended, perhaps because I didn't get the reminder out in enough time. I pulled together a talk about how I used libHaru to generate PDF output from a program that I wrote. I could bring in another program (Perl script) that I wrote to get data out of a ham radio related piece of test gear. It is the very first native Linux program in the world to talk to this device. I know because I asked for (and received!!!) a previously unpublished specification from the vendor. Sweet! I will be releasing this program under the GPL v3 shortly. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of people at the next meeting. Of course, we'll go out after the meeting for pizza and socializing. 201 CMR 17 - "Standards for the protection of personal information of residents of the Commonwealth" - takes effect March 1

Hello all, Just wanted to remind everyone that 201 CMR 17 takes effect March 1! If you're not familiar with this regulation, it specifies policies, procedures, and security requirements that are needed if you store a minimum of first initial and last name in conjunction with a social security number, drivers license/id number, financial account number (credit, debit, bank account number), or an access code or PIN/password that would allow access to a bank account. This doesn't just apply to companies that accept credit card payments. Think of it from an HR point of view as well. GPS

I have a great little Lenovo netbook and I haven't found a good use for the expresscard 34 slot I've been researching GPS devices but can't find an ExpressCard 34 style GPS device. I could get a normal GPS device with a screen and junk, but that would defeat the purpose of my search. Does anyone have experience with using a laptop with a GPS device? FYI: I already have maxed out the ram and have a 150gig hard drive, plus a webcam and bluetooth...if anyone can think of a better use of the Expresscard, I'd like to hear that, too! Ciao

Does anyone recommendations on $400 to $600 laptops for Linux with a regular 15" or so screen and at least 2-4GB RAM. I am going with a low-spec (and low cost) as I have used the laptop an hour or two a week in the past as for daily use my eyes prefer my desktop's 24" widescreen LCD. In this price range I am mostly finding Netbooks and the occasional low end Acer (newegg).
