Charter Telephone reviews, boylston?
by John Stoffel Sept. 29, 2018

Sept. 29, 2018

Hi, Anyone on here using Charter Telephone VOIP service? I've currently got Verizon, but the wife hates it because our phone lines get flaky all the time, esp when it rains. So I'm thinking to save money and combine all my stuff onto Charter. I've already got High Speed internet and regular old cable. Not wild about Digital Cable since I'm happy with Tivo and I don't want yet another set top box to have to deal with... So, any horror stories about Charter Phone VOIP quality and service? Thanks, John

I'd be willing to give a talk on Linux virtualization beyond Virtualbox if anyone's interested. I've been running a CentOS-based virtualization server for a while now, so I could talk a bit about that. -Logan On Tue, Nov 22, 2016 at 8:10 PM, John Stoffel <john(a)stoffel.org> wrote: > > Ansible/chef/puppet/salt would be all good. > > Eric> I like em all, I'm down for giving the RPZ talk whenever. > Eric> On Tue, Nov 22, 2016 at 5:30 PM Tim Keller <turbofx(a)gmail.com> > wrote: > > Eric> Hey Gang, > > Eric> After last meeting, we were sitting around and started > brainstorming some > Eric> ideas for upcoming > Eric> meetings. > > Eric> Here were some of the ideas that came up... > > Eric> - 2 factor authentication > Eric> - Full disk encryption or partition encryption with luks + ubee > token > Eric> - Personal rpz > Eric> - Home automation with Raspberry pi > Eric> - Ansible and/or other automation / configuration tools > Eric> - git methodologies, i.e. now that you've got git, how to use it > Eric> effectively > Eric> - Modern Linux kernel compiling for fun and performance! > > Eric> Suggestions? Location: WPI Rec Center (RC61) "Class of '61 room" (Top Floor) http://maps.wpi.edu/map/?id=609&mrkIid=65287 Date & Time: Nov. 10th @ 7pm Excerpt from Eric: Hey all, Sorry for the (amazingly) late details on this. I will be hosting a key signing party tomorrow for WLUG. What is a key signing party you ask? Do not use anything under 2048 bits in length. *What do I need to bring* 1. Yourself 2. A copy of your key's fingerprint to confirm the copy we'll be distributing 3. A government issued photo ID You can find details at http://wlug.org/keysigning/ (just send the keys to eric.joshua.martin(a)gmail.com) If you come out to dinner tomorrow, ask me about RAID 6 arrays losing 4 drives at a time ;) As usual Snacks and refreshments will be provided and afterwards we'll be heading down to Tech Pizza to keep the nerdiness at full power. Linux Drivers contract opening in MA
by John Spencer Nov. 7, 2016

Nov. 7, 2016

We have a contract with an existing client in the Westford/Chelmsford area looking for a Sr Linux Drivers engineer for a contract opening. It is currently budgeted through the end of the year, but could be extended beyond that as they are working on 2017 budgets now. Our client needs someone with strong Linux drivers experience. Ideally someone with Yocto and the LXP processor from NXP, but those are not hard requirements. The key is strong Linux drivers skills. Please call or email me with if you are interested or have any questions.
