Hey Gang,
We've got a meeting today on the 10th. Long time member Eric Martin is going to be hosting a key signing!
Location: WPI Rec Center (RC61) "Class of '61 room" (Top Floor) http://maps.wpi.edu/map/?id=609&mrkIid=65287 Date & Time: Nov. 10th @ 7pm
Excerpt from Eric:
Hey all,
Sorry for the (amazingly) late details on this.
I will be hosting a key signing party tomorrow for WLUG. What is a key signing party you ask? A key signing party is where people get together in the real world and verify each other's identities so we may communicate securely in the digital world.
*What do I need to do beforehand* Before the party, please email me your *FULL* PGP KeyID (gpg --fingerprint ${EMAIL} )
gpg --fingerprint ejmartin2@wpi.edu

and I will include you in the listing. Please also send your key to If you aren't able to send me this, please bring 10-20 copies of your full fingerprint to hand out to people. * If you do not have a key already, *you can create one. There are plenty of GUI tools for Windows, Mac and Linux, I prefer the CLI though. *gpg --gen-key* will get you started. I prefer RSA keys 4096 bits long, but you can do otherwise. Do not use anything under 2048 bits in length.
*What do I need to bring*
1. Yourself 2. A copy of your key's fingerprint to confirm the copy we'll be distributing 3. A government issued photo ID
You can find details at http://wlug.org/keysigning/ (just send the keys to eric.joshua.martin@gmail.com)
If you come out to dinner tomorrow, ask me about RAID 6 arrays losing 4 drives at a time ;)
As usual Snacks and refreshments will be provided and afterwards we'll be heading down to Tech Pizza to keep the nerdiness at full power. Thanks, Tim.
