Sounds more like the power supply is taking it's time to die. As the power level dips thats where your errors/reboots are popping up. Easiest thing to verify is 1.) Turn off the modem and unplug. 2.) Remove case and inspect the board. 3.) If the board's solder connections look like there are not good connections ANYWHERE on the board then you probably have a bad solder issue, if the solder looks good, it's probably a power supply on the board problem which is a chip. 4.) Help with water level problems

Hey all, I had a close call with my hot water heater this afternoon. I heard on odd noise in the pipes and it turned out that my hot water heater was dumping water out of the overflow valve. Luckily, I found it quick enough, and I'm pretty sure I got it handled for < $150. There's a 1 Gal bucket under the overflow valve, and if I had a water level detector emailing me that water is in the bucket, I could have caught this earlier. I was looking at buying an Arduino and setting up a simple circuit. I know a few people have played with Arduinos, any suggestions on which one to get and how to go about it? I don't need to know how much water is in the bucket, I was thinking about a float type device or even two wires that trip a relay. I just want a heads up that water is in the bucket so I can stop before my basement floods. Thanks in advance, -- Eric Martin

A question about KMS API's

Anyone know anything about the KMS API? From userland? I'm working on a project and would like to use KMS/FB directly, as at boot there will be no binaries available except ours, No libc even. Just a few static binaries. if anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated it. I can't seem to find anything on it on google, and I really don't have the time to go pouring over the kernel source.

Hi Chuck, It doesn't have to be 2 HDMI compatible outputs. It just came to me that the Pi has a composite video and a stereo audio out port too. One of each would be super as I have power supplies, keyboards and mice for both my Pi's. The four OS's (which might be overkill for time) that I plan to bring for the demo are Raspian (a Debian distro that is running a web server), Gentoo, Fedora and OpenELEC (an XBMC type distro). Also if possible Ethernet access? BBQ interest survey: aug14/aug15 ?

Sum sum summatime.... ...and it's crunch time, do-or-die for our annual summer WLUG bbq. I'm looking at hosting ..... REAL SOON, e.g. tues/wed aug14/15, now that I see the weather (tuesday looking like the best sunny day next week). My rough location: boylston (near berlin+Clinton, 10min from 495/hudson, 20min or less from worcester via 290 east...) Timing: loose....6-8pm or later; Challenges: my grill is half-gone (2 of 4 burners work OK) and my motivation depends on some feedback.
