You can only upgrade SLES9 if you have the upgrade key from SuSE Themselves
I recommend downloading SUSE 9.2 DVD or FTP install if this is only
for a personal use OS
~Tom
"Hi All,
I just installed the SuSE SLES 9 (kernel 2.6.5-7.97). I can't get the 'YOU'
utility to work. A box pops up asking for a username/password pair.
I have this set up to run automatically every day at 5:00AM, but it fails
with an error message "Unable to check for updates".
If I run the YOU GUI by hand, a box pops up asking for authentication data
(a username and password). During the installation of the O/S, it
actually ran YOU
successfully and downloaded some updates.
I've looked at the /etc/sysconfig/onlineupdate file and I can't see anything
obviously wrong. There is a password file in /var/lib/YaST2/you. I've
tried using the root
password, my personal password, but nothing works.
What am I overlooking?
Thanks,
-Chuck"
