Mandrake 10.1 Official ISOs

Mandrake 10.1 Official is now available for download and/or FTP install, but the ISOs (GPL) won't be available on the mirrors for 3 weeks. I scoured for them and found them here, in case anyone's interested: http://games.gci.net/pub/Linux/Mandrake/Mandrakelinux-10.1-Official/ It took a couple connection attempts (I assume they're limiting connections), but now I have two ISOs maxing out my cable modem at 395 KB/s. If the install base is NT based, you could use hfnetchk (which SUS is based on) to check, and kixtart to do the grunt work of patching. Linux Photo Printer recommendations

Hi, Does anyone have a recommendation of a good photo printer under Linux? I've heard good things about Epson printers, specifically the 2200 series. I need a printer with USB connection, and good quality output (under Linux, gimp-print?) of pictures/photos. Thanks, John

Chuck, I'm not sure what versions of windows your have in your install base, however the easiest thing is to just configure them to download and install the patches themselves. As for the other programs, are these things that have to be "installed" or can they be raw copied out to the machines? I have been working as a food manger for soo long and looking for a change .. something that might allow me to learn and grow ... something to get my foot in the door .. i have good knowledge of linux and window .. anything to help .. advice ?

I know that with SMS and Windoze Active Directory I can do this, however I don't want to use Windows as my PDC. FC3 + weird gui issue...

I recently upgraded this machine (was running FC2) to FC3 test3. Everything works great, but I noticed one really odd anomaly. If I open up an app, and move it to the second head (this machine has duel monitors and is running Xinerama) it disappears from the task bar. Now if I pick the app up and move it back over to the primary monitor it reappears on the task bar. I've routed through the settings, and nothing *looks* amiss. Anybody got any ideas? Later, Tim.

In /etc/ssh/sshd_config, uncomment the logging lines, and turn logging to debug. That will give you a lot more info. You'll want to turn it off after, as according to the sshd_config man page "Debug violates user's privacy". One thing that just happened to me as I'm typing this: ssh would prompt me for a login, but wouldn't log me in. No log of the event, just dumped me out. I sent SIGHUP to it and everything is fine now. I'm sure you've tried restarting, but weird things happen. I'm also getting a login delay following the first authentication failure. There is no failure message in the login panel, only in the log. I only log in once. /etc/ssh/ssh_known_hosts does not exist on any servers, and I didn't get the warning message I remember from first contact with a server (long ago, or after ISP changes).
