Thanks to everyone for all the help. I was afraid I would have to drag my computer to Worcester tonight to get this done. Instead I will arrive without it. I did not rejumper the drives. I believe I told SuSE to use the second drive and ignore the first. I may be wrong about this since it was awhile ago that I did the initial install. I do know that I am not asked whether or not to boot windows. Yast2 does have the ability to modify lilo. This is either not stable or allows the users to screw up because Yast2 appears to be locked on my laptop after going into the configuration tool :( Normally I would reject the idea of switching to Grub at this point but since SuSE 8.x is using it I am willing to entertain the idea. I neglected to mention one little detail. When I bought the computer it came with windows98 installed one harddrive and a second unformatted drive. I did a new install of SuSE onto the second harddrive. This effectively made windows unavailable. I have not done anything to the first drive other than mount it as a fat partition. Installfest

I have a request that is sacrilege to the charter of WLUG. However it is driven by the practicality of working in todays IT market place. I have run linux exclusively on my personal computers for quite awhile. My situation has changed and now need to make one of my computers a dual boot with windows. The only way I know how to do this is to install windows first and then linux. This would mean having to restore my current installation from backups which I have not done before. My preference would be to add windows leaving my linux installation alone. I am still a newbie to linux and do not understand lilo and the boot process. Would this be something that someone would be willing to help walk me through? Thanks, Mike

Aurora SPARC Linux

I'll have Aurora SPARC Linux (www.auroralinux.org) at tomorrow's InstallFest if anyone wants to try it out. It is basically the same as what would be Red Hat 7.3/Sparc, but they can't call it that since it wasn't officially made by Red Hat. There is a 32-bit version and a 64-bit version. -- Charles R. I've sent the message to WPILA twice now. Haven't gotten any response back, but at least they know. I'll be there with CD's for Gentoo 1.4_rc1 with stage3, Mandrake 9.0 and Redhat 8.0.
