Hey Everybody, Sick of your limited file systems? Worried it won't scale when pentabyte disks hit the market? Good news, I've got a file system for you! I'll be doing a talk/demo of the ZFS (Zettabyte File System) naively running on Linux. This is going to be held in the campus center Rm. 129 a.k.a "Chairman's Room" at 7pm. I am bummed out that home / requirements / life will keep me away from the WLUG meeting this week. Very interested in learning about ZFS details, tips and configuration for the home NAS I am currently building. The next WLUG meeting is June 11th, 2015. @ 7pm. NOTE: THE MEETING WILL BE IN THE CAMPUS CENTER RM 129 aka "Chairman's Room" I will be speaking about native ZFS on linux. I'll go into the structure of ZFS and its design principles, and how it's used in production. I'll then do a demo showing off what ZFS can do and I'll create a bunch of different FS types, etc. It should be a blast. Like usual there will be refreshments available. Hey Everybody, Our next meeting is going to be on June 11th, 2015 @ 7:00pm. The topic is going to be "ZFS on linux". What is ZFS? ZFS is a logical volume manager (LVM), raid subsystem and a file system combined. I'll be doing a deep dive on how ZFS works on linux, it's strengths and weaknesses. Snacks and refreshments will be available. I'm working with Frank to verify the location.
