I have a compaq EN pII350, I had one 40gb Maxtor hard drive installed and suse was running fine then I added a second 40gb Western Digital hard drive. Both of them run at 7500rpm. There are a couple of things that seam out of wack. Firest when i install only the WD as the master the computer only gives me the bios screne and nothing else. But when I have the SD set as slave adn the Maxtor as teh master it seams to detec both drives. then i go through the whold Suse install. It dects both HD drives and therwe sizes properly. After it installs and configures everyting it starts the system is fine. The problem arizes the first tiem you stry to restart the system. All it does is go through the BIOS and nest it trys to start the system but all it displays is "li". OpenSSL!

Can i get my latest version of openssl and install it to my remote server without loosing any connection to my server ? Ups, what have I done ? I 'v lost my connection to my remote server cause i have removed openssl on it :( Now, i can not connect to my remote server, it means i have to spend so much money to the technical service :( Can you all please give me any suggestion in order of this case not happens again.. ? Hi all, ipchains: Incompatible with this kernel Thats the warning when I was trying to run ipchains -nL Can somebody please help me to inform what should i do ? I just want my ipchains -nL runs well. Thanks.

I can install gentoo or slackware. Procmail setup

Hi, I'm trying to configure SpamAssassin to run on my RH7.0 server. Procmail was installed with the inital setup. I've added the following line to my .forward file: "|IFS=' ' && exec /etc/smrsh/procmail -f- || exit 75 #test" I've also tried: "|IFS=' ' && exec /usr/bin/procmail -f- || exit 75 #test" The user I'm trying this out on is "test". There is a .procmailrc file in /home/test/ just like what's described in the SpamAssassin INSTALL file. I've added a sym link for procmail in /etc/smrsh to /usr/bin/procmail. My sendmail.mc file has the following line: FEATURE(`smrsh',`/usr/sbin/smrsh')dnl When I send mail to test, it bounces back with this error: ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- "|IFS=' ' && exec /etc/smrsh/procmail -f- || exit 75 #test" (reason: 550 Unsafe for mailing to programs) (expanded from: <test(a)fiero.net>) I've scoured the net for info on setting this up properly and have tried everything that's been suggested. I'm at a loss what else is causing this problem. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks! jim

star office fonts

When I upgraded to RedHat 7.2, Star Office seemed to lose most of its fonts. (I can't remember if I installed the new Star Office from the distro, but I think I did.) I've skimmed some web documents on adding fonts, and they seem fairly complex and I don't want to spend that much time on this. Does anyone know an easy way of getting decent fonts back? TIA, Bill

MTA for laptop?

Hey, guys. Got a flame war question for y'all, I guess. What's a good (or the best?) MTA to have on my laptop. Here's what I'd like to be able to do: - Queue outgoing mail while offline, send while online (automatically, if possible... like, "Hey there's a network connection! I'll send all my queued mail!") - Automatically figure out the right way to send stuff based on the current network config. (If I'm at my office, it should use my local office SMTP server... at home, my cable provider.) - Bonus points if it attempts to deliver directly to hosts that will accept it, before falling back to my provider's SMTP. - Extra bonus points if it remembers what hosts won't accept mail directly from me and uses my provider's SMTP for those messages by default. I probably have other demands, but that's all I can think of for now. Maybe like if I'm on a dial up link, it would send small mail first? Stuff like that. Any ideas? -Chuck
