Hi James, have no fear - the WLUG meetings are intentionally inclusive of users of all levels, all the way out to people who have only heard of linux and are curious to know more. While the meeting topics occasionally delve into deeper technical topics, they're always done with the less experienced users in mind, plus everyone is always welcome to throw out requests for meeting topics. Automating RPM building

For my btbuilder project, I have a script to automatically tag a new version, put everything into an tgz, cross-compile to windows, and zip that up. Recently I've been building a .src.rpm for Fedora's copr as well. Actually the rpm is for inclusion in Fedora but I haven't gotten a sponsor yet so publishing to copr is best I can do: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1079064 I'd like to automate the building of this .src.rpm. Currently I copy the tgz to makerpm's rpmbuild/SOURCES and use rpmbuild as user makerpm. I'm trying to find a good way to automate that. Suggestions? I could use ssh with ssh-keygen but I'm wondering if there is a better way.

Here are the parameters for Thursday's picnic: Dick will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, buns/rolls, potato salad, cole slaw and condiments. Spoiler: no cheeseburgers (kosher issue) People can bring: Soda and other beverages, watermelon, chips & dips, salad and desserts. Please don't bring anything with meat. Paying Job needing Linux expertise

WVAO-LP FM radio station in Athol MA has just received its FCC construction permit. They are now organizing to build a radio station. One task is to design/build the control room. They want to use Linux. They would prefer using SUSE (https://www.suse.com/products/server/ and/or https://www.suse.com/products/desktop/) to ensure support and security for the decades to come. You would work in collaboration with the project manager, Ms Marie MacDonald and her team of volunteers. You would be specifying/building control room computer(s), specifying/installing/configuring management and monitoring software, and setting up a support infrastructure (if something goes wrong at 2 in the morning they need to quickly get back on the air) (if a software update results in a broken dependency, it needs to be fixed). Pay is by the hour and to be negotiated with the project manager. This is a non-profit organization. You will not get rich but you will have solid resume material and will definitely be helping the towns of Athol and Orange get a community radio station on the air.
