WVAO-LP FM radio station in Athol MA has just received its FCC construction permit. They are now organizing to build a radio station. One task is to design/build the control room. They want to use Linux. They would prefer using SUSE (https://www.suse.com/products/server/ and/or https://www.suse.com/products/desktop/) to ensure support and security for the decades to come. You would work in collaboration with the project manager, Ms Marie MacDonald and her team of volunteers. You would be specifying/building control room computer(s), specifying/installing/configuring management and monitoring software, and setting up a support infrastructure (if something goes wrong at 2 in the morning they need to quickly get back on the air) (if a software update results in a broken dependency, it needs to be fixed). Pay is by the hour and to be negotiated with the project manager. This is a non-profit organization. You will not get rich but you will have solid resume material and will definitely be helping the towns of Athol and Orange get a community radio station on the air. You're more than welcome to contact me for additional information. Bob Robert.Athol.Mass@Gmail.com
