It should be accessible via the File...Print menu from Gimp. It shows a rather rough thumbnail image within boarders to give you a feel for where the image will be printed. This is actually something folks have been requesting, but we (Gimp-Print project) don't have anyone to implement. The plugin really needs to be rewritten anyway, since it's such a mess, but that's another matter. Printing Photos - cropping in gimp 2.0

Hi All, Thanks for the input I recieved here, I've bought an Epson R300 color printer for making photos. Once I figured out that the debian package for libcupsys has the permissions borked for the files in /usr/lib/cups/backend so that they aren't executable, all is well. I've been happily browsing images in 'gqview', then loading them into gimp 2.0, then printing them. But I'm having issues with scaling images. I have to guess how/where to crop the images so that I can get the maximum amount of the picture onto the paper. It's a real pain, with lots of back and forth. Is there a tool out there, or a gimp plugin, which allows me to take a picture, select a paper size and gives me a template to crop/scale the image to fit that paper size nicely? Any hints on what tools/packages I should be looking at for this type of work? For example, I've got a picture of my nephew and son which I wanted to print out. I also wanted to zoom in a bit (or crop the image down to get closer to them) so that when it printed, I maximized the use of the 4x6 stock. A real pain in gimp 2.0, but since I'm just using the standard Debian install, maybe there is a plugin to help with this? Thanks, John

yum repository for Aurora?

Would anyone here HAPPEN to know of any yum repositories for Aurora Linux (Sparc flavor, 1.0 is based on RH 7.3, 1.9x is based on Fedora)? I've been looking for a repository for upgrading my 1.0 installation to the latest 1.91/1.92, but I cannot find an up-to-date repository. 8( (For anyone that's curious, I'm running Aurora on my Sparc Ultra60...) You Do it Electronics down 128 has an ATX power supply tester for under $10...I also have one if you want to borrow it and Newegg should have one too. All you do is plug it in to your PS Motherboard connector, and flip the switch. If a green light comes on, it's good. Need LSI 1030 IT for SCO 5.0.6

I need LSI 103o IT root disk controller driver for SCO 5.0.6 I have a new PC, HP ML 350 G4 that must be installed with SCO 5.0.6 but its said that no root risk controller found. I have done so many things to make it enable, but seem unsuccessful so far. I have download it from the internet and its still not much helpin' me. I've had a UML based system with http://www.linode.com for over a year and have been very happy with it and linode.com. The lowest cost system, "Linode 64", is $19.95 a month. (Extra disk space if you sign up for a year.) You have full control, create partitions, install the distro, root access etc. The web based interface (Linode Platform Manager) used to partition, install etc is pretty good also. I use www.serverpronto.com for my domains and highly recommend them. It's a dedicated server for the price of a virtual. $29/month with a your choice of OS. FreeBSD, Red Hat, Suse, Debian, Fedora and I think Gentoo also(It use to be listed, just ask for it). Plus the crappy Windows, but that cost more. The only issue I have is the $149 setup fee, which I think is high, but this month they have a special with $80 off the fee. First, I jumpered the on/off switch connection on the mobo and still got the same results (nothing spins up, red LED on mobo comes and stays on). Secondly, I jumped the 14 and 15 pins (with a bent paperclip) on the ATX connector while leaving one HDD (and absolutely nothing else) plugged in - nothing happened. If I understood you correctly, that should at least power the HDD up? Are there any other visual/aural clues that I'm looking for? Should the paperclip get warm assuming there's a current passing through it? I don't want to be presumptuous, but I had a good conversation in the IRC channel during which some good questions were posed. I'd be happy to do up a list of design goals and post them here. I'm also NOT a skilled developer (I pre-date C++, coding-skill-wise) but do quite a bit of configuration and tweaking on my own systems, so I can offer up some of the skills. Any thoughts? - Bob
