It is a customer facing, multi-fasceted role: The SiteSpect Implementation Engineer is a technical expert who is responsible for the configuration, deployment, and support of SiteSpect's core products. This is an engineering position that requires experience in Unix system management, Web applications management, load balancing, and networking/DNS. As this is also a customer-facing role, it requires the ability to communicate technical instructions to both experienced and less experienced clients. This is an ideal opportunity for system and network administrators with a history of working with both technical (IT) and non-technical (business and marketing) teams to define system requirements, plan projects, and ultimately deliver solutions. Requirements * 3+ years of Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting. * 2+ years of experience with solutions architecture for DNS, load balancers and CDNs. * Web server configuration, tuning, and administration. * Shell scripting such as bash, perl, python, or PHP. * Experience with system monitoring tools such as nagios, sar, or sec. Responsibilities include scheduled on-call duty and occasional travel to assist customers with installations and system maintenance. If you walk into the main entrance to Morgan Hall, and turn right toward the dining hall, you will see a door on your right just before the dining hall. Enter that door and there will be a short hallway. We will be in the room on the right. This is the same place where we met last month. I'll try to remember to put up a penguin poster to guide you. Hi Caobin, Our event will be in Fuller Laboratories in Upper Perrault Lecture Hall. Our School is at 100 Institute Road Worcester MA 01609. You may park in the parking lot on Boynton Street which is next to our library and Fuller Labs and across the street from a new, large residence hall. If you google maps 30 Boynton Street, Worcester MA 10609, you will be right across from where you can park and Fuller Labs is up a ramp to the north end of the lot. The keyboard is a bit small but it's not unusable, at least it's got the keys in sane places, unlike some small machines (dell mini). I think it makes the perfect portable terminal or ebook reader. Parts are very cheap and it's not difficult to work on. It's a bit like a more modern HPLX machine, though a little larger. Power management support- with the stock build is very recent anyway. I don't think it could even suspend to ram until earlier this year. I'm not certain how many more updates it'll get with the two new hardware versions (and windows) coming. That's one of my main reasons for sniffing around for alternatives. :) Take care, James
