Hey Everybody, This month Dick Miller will be speaking about the amazing photo editing software called "Fotoxx". https://kornelix.net/fotoxx/fotoxx.html From their website: Fotoxx is a free open source *Linux* program for image editing and collection management. The goal is to meet the needs of serious photographers while remaining fast and easy to use. This presentation has been long in the making. Dick reached out to Chuck that due to scheduling conflicts more than a decade ago he was unable to schedule the presentation! Reminder: Meeting This Thursday at 7pm, Location: Hudson Public Library + online!

Have you cooked up a really cool gadget and upon looking at the huge mess of breadboard wires thought, "It sure would be great if I could turn that into a PCB, but alas, that software is expensive and proprietary and only runs on windows." KiCAD is an open source EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tool that allows you to take your pile o' wires and IC's and turn it into a PCB! Long time member John Stoffel and myself will show you how Thursday night at 7pm at the Hudson Public Library! We'll also have the meeting online at Jitsi and we'll be recording this whole thing for youtube! Afterwards we'll likely head off for dinner and keep up the nerdiness! We've got a meeting on Thursday March 10th! Date & Time: March 10th, 2022 @ 7pm Location: Hudson Public Library and Jitsi at our usual haunt ( https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA) Topic: KiCAD EDA software Speaker(s): John Stoffel and Tim Keller This is going to be an in person and virtual meeting at the Hudson Public Library! The topic is KiCAD, a FOSS EDA (Electronic Design Automation) CAD tool. KiCAD is a computer aided design software package that enables you to create logical circuit diagrams and convert them into a PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards). This software is being used in the industry and has a vibrant community around it. The speaker for this talk is our own esteemed member John Stoffel with myself lending a hand. John and I will show up some of the features of the software, talk about how he's used it to create his own PCB's and give a quick demo. As always these days the entire meeting will be uploaded to our youtube channel. Snacks and Refreshments will be provided and afterwards we'll head out for dinner. Dang, I missed this meeting completely. It certainly looks interesting, but what is the real drive here to replace git/mercurial/etc with yet another VCS? I don't see what one executable is a feature, unless you want to be able to copy it all over the place easily... It looks like it should work, and I guess I should try to stuff the kernel source tree into it and see what happens. LOL! John
