Hey Gang, In an effort to actually eat our own cooking, I've stood up a Jitsi server for us to use. Physical location: Technocopia, 44 Portland st. Worcester MA The NEW VIRTUAL LOCATION: https://jitsi.uvhash.org/WlugMA Time: 7pm Date: Today! April 11th, 2024 Topic: We'll talk about the xz backdoor attempt, other linux related security stuff, How dead easy it was to self host jitsi, other hosting stuff likely, etc. As usual, I'm sure the conversation will wander, get really interesting and it'll be a blast. I just tried to join the meeting and it didn't say 404, it said "wait for moderator?". I hope to join tonight via Jitsi. In the past I have done that by borrowing a Windows computer that has a earplug/mike jack and has been used for Zoom. I thought the computer was for doing computations and never put much thought or effort into watching TV on it, but I have obtained a pair of USB headphones w/ attached microphone, and have been playing with it (them) and finding the buttons and setup menus. It seems to work. So I will be joining (if at all) with a Genuine Linux(TM) laptop. The big advantage of that, besides proof-of-concept, is that I might be able to screen-share and show people what I have been computing. CU7PM, -- Keith
