Hey Everybody! We've got a meeting this Thursday at Technocopia in Worcester! Time: 7PM Date: Dec 12th, 2024 "20241224" Location: 44 Portland St, Worcester Ma -> Technocopia Virtual Location: https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA Topic: Linux Kernel 6.12.x (x = 4 as of this writing!) I've been running the latest linux kernel!! Building it on a bunch of different distros! I'll get into why it's a leap forward, and how you can get it running on your hardware as well! I'm sure like usual we'll digress into a bunch of side topics, you know us! Afterwards, we'll head out for dinner and keep the conversation going! I hope to see you there! This built in virus protection should catch most obvious malware. I would also recommend Firefox with the uBlock Origin extension. Write semantic HTML, add <link rel="stylesheet" href="https://latex.vercel.app/style.css"> to the <head> of your project and you are good to go. Then alot of issues just go away... this is what I did for my mother-in-law and it works great. First one lastest 10 years, second one was only bought because she needed at 64bit compatible one. As for Windows Anti-virus, just use Windows Defender. But the key thing to do is to make her an non-admin user account on there. That helps block alot of problems. So if she does need to install new apps or such, she has to type the admin password in to install them. This slows things down from malicious programs. John

Looking for anti-virus suggestion

I've got a friend who is looking to get a new laptop running Windows for his wife. He's asked me what virus protection should he get. I have no idea what's good nowadays. I would guess Windows Defender is built is, but can anyone advise me as to if he should get something more?

I very much do the same thing. I'm I'm going nuts getting opendkim and postfix on Debian 12 working together to sign my outgoing emails properly.
