Self hosted equivalent to wayback machine

So apparently, for some unknown and completely unforeseeable reason, a few notable websites have gone dark, like reproductiverights.org, lots of DEI related content, and <checks notes...> the official page on the US constitution. For now much of this content can still be found at the Wayback Machine, but it's not hard to foresee the same forces that took down the original content going after them as well. As an alternative, is anyone familiar with completely self-hosted systems with equivalent functionality to the Wayback Machine? -- - Frank

My only two problems (personally) with it are: 1) Storage is limited (I want at leat 16 TB for all of my media -- photos and videos). A pair of 8 TB M.2's would be great, but those aren't available in 2230 form factor. 2) I'd prefer a 4K screen, even at a lower refresh rate. I'm not into gaming. Otherwise, it looks like a fantastic machine. I'd prefer to trade off size and weight in favor of capability, but I'm probably an outlier.

My Framework 16 has been great. I have not upgraded anything. Games I couldn't run before can be run perfectly fine. I did recently try "Return to Moria" and it did not run well. It is PS5 game not available for the PS4 so I suspect it just requires more power than the Framework 16 graphics can give. I'm not running machine learning code so that hasn't been an issue for me. Keith, I have a Framework 16 and it does have good upgradability features. I have not upgraded anything with OEM parts yet, but I was able to re-use a mPCIe wireless adapter from an older laptop that is nicer with the kernel, as well as the storage from my old laptop. I saved money when buying the user-assembled Framework 16 kit as I didn't need to include storage or RAM. I used the NVMe storage from my older laptop and bought some aftermarket RAM that was cheaper than anything Framework was offering with the kit. As for our topic about SilverBlue and atomic desktops, I'm more than willing to create a VM on the spot and we can play with it. Microsoft is abandoning lots of people because their systems won't run windows 10. Personally I've had a couple of people reach out to me asking about linux and I suspect that those of us who advocate for FOSS are going to get an influx of questions. What works, what doesn't, ehow do people play games, etc.. As usual, we'll head off for dinner afterwards and keep the conversation going! I've found that moving my systems to Fedora Atomic has been great for avoiding situations like this. WLUG Meeting tonight?

Tim, I fixed it for you. Gmail bounces emails it thinks are malicious. Indeed, someone sent a virus to the list. Only the moderators got the message because the list is moderated. But moderators who use gmail didn't get it because gmail "protected" them. I had to move them from a computer in my basement, to a VPS in the fog^H^H^H cloud when they took away my IP address, but it's still Postfix SMTP configured to forward without change. I have found the gmail.com can be erratic. Often it delays (defers) msgs without bouncing them. I only saw them bounce once--- no idea why. The error message rotates between three or four variants, sometimes different for re-tries of the same msg. Sometimes it goes through after a day or more. Once I canceled a message that was stuck in the queue for more than a day waiting for gmail.com, but a yahoo.com user got it and replied, quoting the entire first message. That quickly went through to all, including gmail, while the first one was still in the queue. I figured everyone had seen it, if only as quoted, and there was no reason to keep pushing it. I find this annoying. Maybe the WLUG server does too. > Clearly, that message was in error.. since I'm getting them just fine. Well, many of them are addresed to you in addition to WLUG. This one purposely is not. Check that the ones you get are forwarded through the list and not just sent directly to you. I get two copies of many messages To: WLUG and CC: me. Very cool! The meeting went great. I ended up doing an inadvertent demo of the kernel when I had jitsi going, a compile on 2 of my 4 cores, plus running cad and my machine just kept on chugging.
