Sorry for this intrusive method of finding someone, but I saw Andy Stewart at the NearFest this past Friday, and thinking that I had his email address (and I did), I am having trouble with contacting mval.net, his mail domain. A friend of mine did a lot of work for junk mail folks many years ago. To keep in touch with them he has a separate account roughly "fname Lname(a)gmail.com". First time it almost made me spit coffee out my nose. Would be almost as good as naming a young child foo. Hey Gang, Enough people have reached out to me privately that they want to attend remotely, that I think it makes sense to do the meeting virtually this month. There is "-w" for windowed mode. It is really small on most displays as it is 320x200. It never really bothered me but I played it again focusing on the background drawing. I think it is caused from being stretched to a different aspect ratio. The old X11 implementation had a double screen size mode. I have that in Troll Bridge which is the code I based the Inertia Blast drawing code on. I'll try to add that in. Adding a full screen with black borders to keep the aspect ratio would be good too. I'll have to look into that. Inertia Blast

Thrust is an old C64 game. I never played the original but enjoyed an svgalib version a long time ago. Svgalib was used for games when people didn't have machines that could reasonably run X. It requires root to run and can't run under X so it isn't something people do now for the most part. The version I played now has an X version but it requires pseudo color so it is not usable. I updated the code to use SDL. I replaced some images that seemed to have been copied from the original. I renamed the game to Inertia Blast. Encore (Marlboro MA, pioneer of parallel cpus) was amazing (or amazingly foolish) because....roughly 100 employees cranked out this product/HW with not just ONE os: They had 3 flavors, all running on the same large (VAX-sized) Multimax hardware with heavy SCSI disks each a few hundred MB. OS #1: BSD OS #2: sysV OS #3: UMAX, a mach hybrid if that helps I got hired into a 3 person sysadmin team, 2 weeks later I learned my lead cohort was moving to FL leaving me as the new top puppy. But I was surrounded by UNIX literate developers, thrilled to learn from them!
