It seems to work fine on NTFS. I'm willing to loan a copy of it for the Installfest - let me know the details. On a related note, I'm still looking for some linuxy/networky help here at my place. Repartitioning for Installfest

As I mentioned in an earlier email, the Worcester Area Association for Computing Machinery will be having a Linux Installfest on March 27th. We are working under the assumption that many of the people that will attend will want to keep their Windows installations as well. Therefore, we need a nondestructive repartitioning software package. It would also be nice if we could make an image of their hard drive before we do anything so we can ensure the integrity of the data if something were to go wrong. Unfortunately, the IT departments does not have copies of Partition Magic or Ghost that we could use for the event. Does anybody have an appropriately licensed copy of the software that we could use , or know of Open Source / Freeware alternatives that are as reliable as their commercial counterparts? Does someone's place of work have such software that they would be willing for the ACM to use for the event? Is anybody aware of Open Source / Freeware alternatives that are just as reliable as these software packages (these systems will probably be using NTFS, which is much more fickle than FAT32 when it comes to these things) Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated, and the ACM welcomes the WLUG to the Installfest on the 27th. ACM Installfest

The Worcester Area Student Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery will be hosting an Installfest on March 27th from 6-9PM. It will be on WPI Campus in Higgins Lab 116. Veterans and newbies to Linux are welcome! If you are an experienced user, we will start setting up at 5PM, and you are welcome to show up then. We will be advertising heavily around campus, so hopefully we can attract some new users! Reminder: Upcoming WLUG meeting

Hi everybody, This is a reminder about the upcoming WLUG meeting, to be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at the usual place (the Access Grid room, WPI campus, Worcester, MA USA). I just saw this on one of the other lists I'm on and I'm testing it out and it seems to work. http://shfs.sourceforge.net/ It lets you mount a remote filesystem over an SSH link. ala mount -t shfs root@someserver /mnt/localmntpnt Very cool. Tim.

First, did you drop them into /lib/modules/whatever and run "depmod -a"? You'll need that to figure out the dependencies, so that modprobe can auto-load dependent modules. Second, if you have the kernel source, you can search for the names of the unresolved symbols and find out what drivers provide them. -Chuck
