I use one in Millbury. I live on a hill, have it mounted in my attic. I get about 30 stations. Most of the normal ones. Pretty sure I would get more if I mounted it on a post. And to Linux-ize this.. It is fed into a tvheadend server running on ubuntu on a RPi, which I then serve to Jellyfin running on a VM on my server. Has anyone in the list had any experience using an external HDTV antenna in Worcester? Reason I ask is that we ditched the full spectrum tv channel lineup and went with a the abbreviated channel lineup. However, we are missing the local broadcast tv stations and I was wondering it I could pick up some of them using an external antenna. I searched the web for information but I do not have enough of a radio background to understand the meaning of the signal strength tables that I find. A while ago I purchased an interior antenna and did not have any luck so I figure that I might try an external antenna. Any help would be appreciated. -David -- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. www.avast.com

The TEK keyboard looks good and with familiar design. I thought at first you were talking about the brand I use: I currently have a TEX Shinobi, which has the trackpoint (like on Thinkpads) if you use those, as well as left click/right click/scroll. I like the size as well, which I find to be compact. My only real issues: I would choose switches other than browns (there is a DIY version which seems interesting) and the scroll button does not register as Mouse3. It is also maybe a bit pricey ________________________________ From: Frank Sweetser via WLUG <wlug(a)lists.wlug.org> Sent: Wednesday, June 21, 2023 2:16:56 PM To: Worcester Linux Users' Group General Discussion <wlug(a)lists.wlug.org> Cc: Tim Keller <turbofx(a)gmail.com>; Frank Sweetser <frank.sweetser(a)gmail.com> Subject: [EXT] [WLUG] Re: Keyboard recommendations So my primary keyboard these days is one of the older TEK keyboards. Yeah, I think my favorite out there one so far is this one that requires side view mirrors to learn to use it properly: https://www.allthingsergo.com/safetype-keyboard/ I've also avoided most of the kit ones, simply because I just don't have the time these days to do that much soldering. The Ergodox does seem like it fits the bill, even if it's on the pricier side, so I may just go with that one if nothing better appears. thanks! My primary mechanical keyboard that I've been using for a while is starting to go a little flakey on me, even after a few rounds of cleaning, so I'm looking to finally replace it. I'm looking for something: - With fully mechanical keys (replaceable switches would be a nice bonus) - Ergonomic layout, which these days seems to primarily mean a split design - Illuminated keycaps would be preferred Anyone have good recommendations they can share? -- - Frank

I'm looking more for a quick way to send my daughter at camp an interesting letter. I've done a spiral text, a crossword puzzle, and this year will be a real puzzle. It's something fun to keep me learning new stuff. Can't wait to take the laser class in Technocopia this monday. > Bob is a friend and is a fixture at Briarwood in Worcester. Cool, my neighbor Anita used to work there.

I'll try to write up a review and share my thoughts. I've got a basic inkscape plugin as well for generating the puzzle pieces and then I layered on some text on top for the letter. Need to re-learn my inkscape so I can make it look better. John
