Re: [Wlug] looking for mySql setup info

by kstratton＠fastmail.us

I want to get myth tv installed. My problem is that I can not get to the mysql prompt. Once I get there, I think I can follow the gentoo setup guides for mySql and myth TV. I am looking for an independent setup guide for mysql to get to the mysql prompt so that i can troubleshoot what is wrong with my setup. Once I get it insalled, I am considering buying hdhomerun. Hi all, Yeah, I'm still *in* the meeting. Glory be to laptops. I'm building a PyGTK scheduling application. It can be downloaded at: http://cons.truct.org/projects/psyched.html Release 0.1.0 is usable, but I suggest using the SVN trunk - it's better. I'm probably going to be releasing 0.1.1 in a few weeks. I don't know what desktop/window manager you're using (or which Fedora includes, actually), but you have tried a more lightweight alternative? You might try to check out what's running on your system, and prune out extra daemons and the like that you don't need. Use the chkconfig and ntsysv commands to manage what services are started up. Also, you may want to try disabling the SELinux security extensions.
