It's not the sprawling bazaar it once was but if the weather's good, it's definitely worth checking out. Ham radio and computer gear, (primarily electronic) musical instruments and rack stuff, surplus, some new stuff. I like it for random bits and bobs that might not make sense to buy mail order after shipping, or used stuff I don't yet know I want, knobs, enclosures, etc. I don't like the, now, horrific parking situation and new higher rates for both buyers and sellers. Make sure you print out the flyer to save a buck. I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep going at six damn bucks, especially with gas where it is but I've been going since the 90s and inertia. Seeking volunteer to help with local non-profit's website

Literacy Volunteers of Greater Worcester, lvgw.org, is seeking a volunteer for a one-off project to refresh their website. This is not an ongoing commitment. Not sure if the backend tools the use for site management are linux-based, but I suspect they are not. Their goals are: 1. Updating LVGW's website to make it more user friendly, interactive and functional 2. The current website needs some work to make it easier to use and update. This person would also mentor a staff member about these issues Please contact me offline if you are interested. They are also separately looking for a volunteer archivist to create an online database of their historical and research data. Hope you don't think this crosses the line of fair use of this list, but it is for a good cause. Mike

Hi John, The function requested / required was subprocess.check_output. My developer used jshints to do a lint type syntax check on code in a pre-commit hook. With the ius repository, this wasn't a big deal at all. I'm actually surprised that RHEL / CentOS don't support python2.7 since it's been out for 3 years. Just a quick question, but what feature of Python 2.7 did the hook depend on and could it have been re-written to only need Python 2.6 instead? Seems like a lot of work, and now a bunch more dependencies and hacks to rebuild this system when/if it dies, just to make a developer happy. Not saying this is bad... but maybe saying that core production systems should *try* to stay as simple as possible. And no, I don't always follow my own advice here. Just trying to get you to give us more info on your process here, since I think it's a good example of the balance we all have to try and achieve in our $WORK.
