I very much do the same thing. I'm I'm going nuts getting opendkim and postfix on Debian 12 working together to sign my outgoing emails properly. Let's be frank, the digital landscape is looking a bit bleak right now. More and more, I'm finding myself not that interested in posting anything about myself or my family because I don't need some AI algorithmically categorizing me. Even this email I'm sure is being analyzed by google.. gmail is free for a reason.. I had an idea and that was this. Would people be interested in a mastodon server running inside a tailscale mesh? Or some other service, like IRC or https://revolt.chat/ or I'm sure other people have other great ideas. My plan is to show off a pi running mastodon and/or revolt with tailscale. I'd love to hear people's thoughts about this. If people even think the tailscale stuff is needed. So that's my thought for what we might talk about. Does Poxmox Virtualize H.264 encoding

I occasionally use OBS studio as a screen recorder in my main OS and my CPU is a little light for CPU encoding of video. I have been considering using Proxmox as my hypervisor in place of Virtualbox on my single desktop. Does anyone have any idea if proxmox provides virtual H.264 hardware encoder support like there is a virtual device for keyboard and mouse? From what I have been able to determine, I can not use a pass-through unless I get a second video card, and I suspect there will be other limitations. Right now, I can not get another video card due to a shortage of PCIe slots, $$ and power supply capacity .

You can also use LyX which is the WYSIWYG version of TeX/LaTeX editor. The nice part is you can break things into chapters, and have a makefile assemble it all for you into a book and create an index automatically, along with Table of Contents, etc. And since you can just use plain text, it keeps you from agonizing over the look over the paper at first, letting you concentrate on the content.
