If you can provide some more info, I can let you know if these would help you. What kernel rev do you use? What File System, and how big are the block sizes? How much ram is in your machine? What version of apache are you using? Do you have mod_perl installed, if so, what version of PERL are you using? Do you have a TCP stack with the syn/ack flag support? Are you using IPv4 or IPv6? Do you use 8903.11t? You're not using token ring, are you? -Setag

oracle ad :-)

Hi all This morning's T&G had an amusing ad from Oracle. It consisted of a large heading "Email" and then two columns Oracle and Micro$oft starting with cost per user of $60 for Oracle and $126 for Micro$oft. .htaccess for an exception!

Hi All, I have several subdomain where each is put on the diffrent directory and it has one index.html for each. The thing that I want is, the visitor can only access my html file, so if they want to connect to another page where the location is the same, it must be a password asked for this. My point is, can I defined *.* as protected files where the index.html, fly.jpg are not inlcluded in *.* definition. So, here, the visitor can still freely accessing the my index.html and fly.jpg where they are availbale in every sub domain directory. Thanks!.

qmail Problem! - Can only take my mail if sent using qmail-inject,.....

Hi all, I'm still got a serious problem with my qmail server. Now, I can send email to my address using qmail-inject directly from my console. Then, I'll try to retreive my email from my Outlook, it works, I can get my my mail, but it is said form my MAILER-DAEMON. In other case, I can send using my email address that listed in my qmail server successfully, but If some body send me message, I could not get it, in fact, the sender doesnt get the confirmation that the email has sent to invalid username in the defined domain. It means that I can receive the email, but where the email saved ? what configuration that I've got to do to fix this ? Thanks Men.

iPAQ update

OK, I had a great time at the meeting on Wednesday, just let me say that first off. The great thing about linux is community, and WLUG certainly has that.... Now, at this moment I'm listening to a Nickel Creek .ogg on my iPAQ using Opie's media play w/ libvorbis. It's a little unstable, but once I get a decent flash card I'll finally be able to take my music files with me.... It took a while to get to this point. I disliked wiki before, now I positively HATE it (and I think Linux Magazine is on drugs for liking it so much). Stuff is just, missing - like how to make sure your iPAQ has dns entries by copying one file.....arrrgh! I could ssh in right away, and on usb, that was the easy part; but for some reason iptables weren't working at first and I had to wipe them and start over, now I've got dns AND iptables forwarding my packets, and the ipaq is on the internet (no, I'm not writing this e-mail on it, an iPAQ, no keyboard, remember?). The only problems I have are with the todolist (it won't start), and qtopia desktop (it won't link). The todolist is missing a library, which I'll find, but the syncing issue is a pain, it just won't see it. Brad's been great and he think going up to opie unstable may solve the issue, we'll see (don't you just love debian users? They say, "Go use unstable" as if that's just what people do...). Now, when I get a tape-player or mp3 input in a car stereo I can finally ask for that microdrive for Christmas! Thanks again! Wes

I've actually got usbnetworking installed and working (I'm ssh'd in to the ipaq), but qtopia desktop won't connect and ipkg update won't see the world (even though I've got forwarding set up...). I'm backing up now.... I'll get the bootloader installed and I'm bringing my laptop w/ win4lin so I'll have activesync if we need it... Am I going to have to manually add my contacts back in? I've been toying w/the qtopia demo... hmmmm. Wes, Almost time ... here's a small check list to keep in mind. -make sure you have all your data backed up. -you will have to install bootblaster before you get to the meeting because you need to install it with activesync, which i don't have. here's the web page http://familiar.handhelds.org/releases/v0.6.1/install/install-bootldr.html do the steps up to 'installing the bootldr'. (We'll do that at the meeting). - you may want to bring your laptop with ppp and minicom installed (i think you said you had one). Once we have linux install i can set up ppp for you so you can talk to your ipaq from linux. I think that's it, let me know if you have any questions. --brad
