It advocates for removing traps, so that you don’t have to waste brain cycles on remembering where they are. And it offers practical advice for sending your future self (and future coworkers!) gifts, instead of post mortems that just say “human error :-(”. Includes stories of preventable outages. Bring your schadenfreude.” We will be announcing some new great things going on later as the conference gets closer. One of the things that was brought up in the feed back from the past few years is a get together on Thursday night for those in the area or arriving early so we will be opening up the bag stuffing party to all. Yes, that's what I was doing but after I chose this the Mint installer wasn't seeing any partitions. Removed GPT record with gdisk and that fixed it. Finally. Success. It wasn't pretty and maybe I'm vulnerable to some particular types of threats but at least I have Windows and Linux installed and available. :-\ In order to get the installer to see the Windows partition I had to open a terminal and run gdisk to remove the GPT record from the disk and tell it to use MBR. Yeah, I should know better. I was beat up and frustrated at the time. Sorry. The root of my problem was that I couldn't find any options in the BIOS to manipulate the Secure Boot/UEFI/Legacy stuff. However, I found them this morning after I selected an option that I assumed to be unrelated which unlocked them. Thank you, Gigabyte. So I'm making progress now but I'm still not out of the woods yet. I've got Windows installed with space partitioned for LM but now I'm working on getting the installer to recognize the Windows partition. It thinks I have the entire disk available. Damn. You have turned off secure boot, right? Which OS is working right now? Can you run grub manually from the UEFI prompt? Can you get to the UEFI prompt? Are you trying to install Windows second after a successful Linux install?
