I weirdly got a message telling me that my account had been suspended from the mailing list because of too many bounces? In any case, I hope this message finds everybody. Very cool! The meeting went great. I ended up doing an inadvertent demo of the kernel when I had jitsi going, a compile on 2 of my 4 cores, plus running cad and my machine just kept on chugging. Technocopia was having a holiday party so we had lots of people wander in as well. All in all, it was great. Tim. This sounds like your Ubuntu 20.x install went south. Was this a new install or your current system? Did you apply any updates before this problem came up? So I think what you want to do is boot an Ubunto 20.04 or 20.10 ISO, and then go into 'rescue' mode or shell mode. I honestly forget. But the idea is to then get into your setup, chroot to your old non-booting setup and re-run the 'update-grub' or 'update-initramfs' tools to rebuild your setup. But we do need more details. Would it be possible for you to bring the computer to a WLUG meeting? People would be able to help you there more quickly than over email.
