FreeBSD snd_emu10k1 issues

by TheLobster

Hey, I currently have FreeBSD 6.1 installed. I have a sound blaster audiology 2 and in order to use it on previous linux and freebsd installs I needed to load snd_emu10k1 into the kernel. When i run "kldload snd_emu10k1" as root, the computer completely freezes up. Gnome doesn't respond, no keyboard responce (Alt+Backspace or Ctrl+alt+F1) and everything seams to lockup. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Is there going to be a presentation accompanying this talk? I might not be able to go, but I'm very interested in the topic. Fwd: [Wlug] problems with smb export on external usb drive

by Jim Dibb

Sorry to followup to my own email but I eventually solved my problem by reformatting the filesystem and copying all the data back to it. I just couldn't get the security set right. I could mount the share, but not see any files on it. From that point I reformatted, without doing anything else, and everything worked fine from then on. THanks. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Jim Dibb <jimdibb(a)gmail.com> Date: Mar 7, 2006 8:00 PM Subject: Re: [Wlug] problems with smb export on external usb drive To: Worcester Linux Users Group <wlug(a)mail.wlug.org> > > > > > > > > Great answer, that was it.
