We just got some Samsung SyncMaster 204bs here at work. 20" LCD monitors, nice and bright and crisp. 1600x1200 native resolution, Analog and DVI inputs you can flip between easily. Monitor has a stand (and Windows software) where you can flip the screen 90 degrees to go from wide to tall aspect. It's very nice. I'm thinking of getting some for home at some point, if only because of the space savings on the desks. John

The stands on the two LCDs are not built for this. It sounds interesting though. Eric Andy Stewart wrote: > At work, we have a few folks with dual LCDs (only 1280x1024 resolution, > though). Yeah, it's sitting here in my dorm room single-monitored right now. I can't stop thinking about the dual monitor setup I'll have going by tomorrow night... Eric Andy Stewart wrote: > Two LCDs - is this a home setup? Sweet! :-) > > Andy

As I'm getting a second LCD in the mail tomorrow, I'm probably going to bring up Xorg/Xinerama dual head setups. I hope somebody will know something more than I do :) Eric Mike Leo wrote: >Not a technical one, but I have been coming to meetings for maybe a year now, and have not had a >chance to introduce myself, and more importantly, haven't found out who you all are. > >With no topic tonight, can we just have an re-introduction of the members so we know who these >emails are coming from? > >thanks > >_______________________________________________ >Wlug mailing list >Wlug(a)mail.wlug.org >http://mail.wlug.org/mailman/listinfo/wlug >

Hi Rich, The meetings are open to the public, so feel free to join us! There are no fees of any kind, unless you choose to make a small voluntary donation. I generally put a plastic penguin container on the back table, and sometimes folks put a couple of bucks in there to defray the cost of the soda and cookies which I usually bring to a meeting. The closest thing we have to a membership list is our mailing list. People (un)subscribe at their leisure. As far as hazing, we don't bother. Living in a Microsoft dominated world is hazing enough, don't you think? :-) Later, Andy - -- Andy Stewart, Founder Worcester Linux Users' Group Worcester, MA, USA http://www.wlug.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFEPW5WHl0iXDssISsRAvrpAJ9rZbKzILxQilczLQ3oUdIweKVg9QCghIgd 5lBHbmbv8asx8IGqxwipMPU= =9eUs -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I am only answering for Andy as it is late in the day and I wanted to make sure you had a chance to get this before it was too late... I just showed up the first time as well, and they didn't beat me or make me run Windows as punishment, so I think it is OK! This is a good bunch of folks and I'm sure you will be welcome, and someone is always there to help out with problems...I'll be bringing up RH Clustering myself. Hope to see you there. Meeting topic

by Mike Leo

Not a technical one, but I have been coming to meetings for maybe a year now, and have not had a chance to introduce myself, and more importantly, haven't found out who you all are. With no topic tonight, can we just have an re-introduction of the members so we know who these emails are coming from? thanks
