Installfest Media...

So currently I've got ISO's for Redhat 7.3/8.0 and Mandrake 8.0 (disks 1 and 2, but not the 3rd internationalization disk) What other distributions would people like me to make some copies of? Also, I'm going to put together my obligatory Disk-o-everything. As a side note, I personally think it would be cool if we could have a repository of WLUG goodies, but I know there'd be some logistics around that. So far this is what's going to be on it. (unless otherwise noted, assume I'll be grabbing the latest) Office Stuff: OpenOffice Gimpprint Kernel Stuff: Latest Stable Kernel Sources Latest Unstable Kernel Sources (would like some input here) Sound Stuff: alsa free OSS drivers lame bladeenc cdparanoia grip ogg-vorbis ultramaster xmms xmms plugins Video: Nvidia Drivers (I'll grab everything, for every version they've got) (would like some input here) Video Tools: Cinelerra (and all the stuff that comes with it like Xmovie, etc) (input please!) Burning Tools: cdlabelgen cdrtools gcombust gtoaster xcdroast Browsers: Mozilla Phoenix Opera Netscape plugins video-players: xine mplayer libdvdcss region-changer (would like some input here) Games: Deluxe Xkobo Mame (help...)

As a former Tech Support Slave, tinkering with the registry of any Microsoft product is akin to hand editing your compressed kernel image... I'm not saying you can't do it, I just wouldn't.. Plus, any encryption (even microsoft) encryption is better than no encryption any day... Add this line in the global section of your smb.conf file and the world will be a happier place. encrypt passwords = yes Oh, and this works with every version of windows... By default, Windows uses encrypted passwords for SMB, and at this point the default Samba configurations for most Linux installations set up encrypted passwords on the Samba server. There's no need for this anymore, and plaintext passwords are not a good idea to begin with (even if it's not encrypted that well). Brian J. Samba Server and its connection with Windows 98.

Hi all, Well, may be somebody of you need this information, if not u can ignore it... ;p Well, samba server and its connection to Windows 9* basicly only need this configuration done. Are all 5 iso images needed for install? I would imagine not. Does anyone know what each iso image is titled. Historically, one has been for sources and another for binaries, etc. Chris Charles R.
