Knoppix 5 dvd

I got ahold of the knoppix 5 dvd and there was talk about people wanting it at the last meeting.... if anyone wants a copy, let me know and I'll burn one for you. >From what i can see, it is a bootable dvd, but still in German, not english, but I did not explore to much into it. thanks mike

Access Grid software is open source. There is a Windows version and a Linux version (several distribution packages as well) available for download here: http://accessgrid.org/ The software normally requires an IP Multicast capable ISP, but there is a built in Unicast Bridge functionality which will convert the streams--just select "Use Unicast" from the virtual venue properties. I don't think this will work from behind a NAT, though, but you can try forwarding all the necessary ports (a lot of ports) or using a DMZ port on your router. If anyone would like to try this, feel free to contact me and I'll help you get set up.

Andy never said whether he got that message. You should have seen a two line message from me with almost no headers. If you got the message then I suspect that the problem with the town is not the firewall, but the reverse DNS. Could you post the domain name of the town? I would like to poke at its MX and PTR records to see if there is anything that I might feel like rejecting. Speaking of rejecting, when the town can not send mail to you do they get a bounce message with a reason for non-delivery, or does it just go into a black hole, looking like it was delivered but never showing up? -- Keith

The Town is considering using port forwarding on their firewall to reach the mail server. The Town is unwilling to put the mail server on or outside of the firewall, claiming that the risk level is too high for them to support. Bandwidth sharing problem

I have a friend with a bandwidth sharing problem. There are two linux boxes (one Debian Sarge, one SuSE 9.3) attached to an old Linksys 10/100 wired router on cable internet (3Mbps confirmed download speed). When the Debian box is downloading a large file, it hogs all the bandwidth, and the SuSE box is very slow on the internet. Is there an easy way to limit download speed on one or both boxes to make them share nicely? I looked through the manual for the router, and I don't see a way to do it there. If there's not an easy way to do it, I'd still like to hear the difficult way to do it. Thanks, Greg
