Wlug Meeting

As a side topic, either after J.R.'s talk, or over pizza, I'll entertain any discussion of why I shouldn't dump Kubuntu in favor of SuSE on my laptop. The Hardy and Intrepid versions of Kubuntu are backward steps in functionality compared to Gutsy (in my very limited experience). The SuSE live CD works just fine. It looks like you can do it in Icedove (Thunderbird). i've never tried it. Edit --> Folder Properties --> Retention Policy And then you can set it by number of messages or days or for messages that have been read. Automatically deleting old email

Is it possible in Evolution (or another email client) to configure messages to be deleted after a specified period without manual intervention? I have a few folders set for mailing lists and shopping offers, but the contents are irrelevant after a few days. I'd like to be able to set up each folder to delete messages older than seven days, for example. Thanks.

Pete, It might help us a bit if you were to stick a copy of your smb.conf file somwhere we could look at it... In my experiences setting up samba, I've hit a couple of odd problems.. 1. When working with samba I've found selinux to be the bane of my existence so I've been turning it off. 2. Samba is pretty good about logging any problems it encounters... I hope that helps... Tim.
