fearless BBQ thurs 7/23

(I did goof last week as you may recall announcing 7/13, but the plan remains: REALLY: 7/23 thursday. 6pm--9?whatever and it's perfectly OK to be late. no RSVP required. I'm ready for good or bad weather or both :) I've setup tunes (linux/soundblaster/mp3's) in my 2-car garage, with garage/protected space for picnic table and more. The BBQ grill needs moving, then everything will be together/nearby in the garage+driveway, or on the lawn if we are blessed with suddenly perfect weather.The aboveground pool is open too. I can't make the BBQ - to much to do before traveling to a wedding - but here is my forecast from yesterday: *Shrewsbury Area Weather for 7/21-7/27//2009 (see disclaimer at bottom)...* *Summary* A Low off Delmarva Peninsula will move into our area later today, and into the Gulf of Maine Wednesday. Warm and humid High will make Wednesday the better day of the next several, but a backdoor cool front will bring more unsettled Wx on Thursday and Friday, including possibility of TStorms. Effects from the Bermuda High will persist through Monday. *Today* Dew point ~61°F, Temps ~65°F, Winds generally E running 4-6 MPH. Precipitation across western MA, northern CT and southern NH with axis of persistent heavier rainfall across eastern half of southern New England. Rainless periods toward mid morning, but 1-2 inches of rainfall in some areas by end of day. *Wednesday* Dew Point ~61°F to ~65°F. Temps ~81°F. Winds NW-WSW @ 1-8 MPH. Clouds start to clear during afternoon. Should end up as a partly cloudy afternoon. This will be the best day of the workweek. *Thursday* Dew point ~68°F, Temps ~76°F, Winds generally S running 2-8 MPH. "Backdoor" cold front moves into our area disrupting warmer and more humid air from the Bermuda High. This will result in cooler temps and increased risk of rain and TStorms. TStorms will lead cold front. *Friday* Dew point ~65°F, Temps ~81°F, Winds generally SW running 5-7 MPH. Similar to Thursday, but lower probability of precip. and TStorms a High reasserts. *Saturday - Monday* Dew point ~654°F, Temps ~80°F, Winds variable 2-6 MPH. I have 3 (three) VGA cables here. If you want 'em, come get 'em. Newton Square Worcester, easy parking in lot out back. I would like to attend BBQ, if someone can provide ride to/from Worcester, that would be very nice. Will bring big bowl of somewhat healthy goodies (side dish) as contribution. VGA cables ; BBQ

Fedora 11 and mingw32

I installed fedora 11 on my old laptop and turned back on glitch free audio. It almost works perfectly. Sufficient that I probably wouldn't bother turning it off now. I think the hard drive is starting to fail so I decided to purchase a new laptop. Since I'd like some 3D functionality now I decided to go with the Intel GMA X4500. Unfortunately Fedora 11 stumbled here. I thought the picture quality wasn't very good and found it was using the vesa drivers not the intel drivers. Searching found that others had the same issue but it worked on Fedora 10. Tried a Fedora 10 live CD and the display was nice and sharp. Modified the xorg.conf to use the intel drivers and Fedora 11 also became nice and sharp. Anyway onto my question, has anyone played with the mingw32 cross compiler on Fedora 11? I've created a simple hello world app and cmake file (since I hate autotools). I've got it compiling by creating a Toolchain file but it seems like that is something that should be provided with the mingw32. Is there a standard Toolchain file somewhere and I just haven't found it?
