Cable or Good DSL ISP's

Hey there, I'm looking for a Cable or a DSL ISP's in Worcester (June Street). I've had a chance to see my brother's AOL PLUS DSL, and it sucks. I also tried to contact Charter to install pipeline, but they never answer the e-mail. If someone knows a good ISP, let me know! Thanks. I've had really good luck with Verizon DSL (get about 70-80k a second + no down time). In Worcester you might want to check out Speakeasy. A couple people in WLUG use them and are happy. iPAQ 3835 and linux?

Hi everyone, Well, I just traded in my old iPAQ and got the new 3835 (games are possible at last, yea!!!). This version comes with serial connector, along with the usb one. This means that, finally, I can get the boot loader installed on my iPAQ and run linux! Couple of questions first, though... Has anyone run linux on this version yet? The hardware is essentially the same, but you never know... Which version should I install? Is yopy's distro available? What about zarus'? Should I use embedded QT, or go with a straight familiar distro using blackbox? Does embedded linux able to mount filesystems on secure memory cards? Just need to know in case I want to get one. Where are good places to get software for embedded linux? Any good games/emulators? What about running pocketPC software? Has anyone screwed with their spouse's head by using the universal remote yet? I'm looking foward to wiping 2002 off my iPAQ, it's got the ugly "kindergarden" interface that helps me despise XP so much. Wes

My guess would be that you upgraded the system and that you built yourself a 2.2.16 kernel on it before the upgrade. I say this because I don't have anything other then 2.4.2-2 in my /lib/modules. Why the hell when you install Redhat 7.1 it installs the 2.4.2 kernel but when you into /lib/modules you see stuff for 2.2.16? Tim.

Microsoft marketeese aside, caring for a network is a different set of skills than caring for unix servers (though there is a certain amount of overlap), and in any good sized organization the two are likely to be two seperate sets of people. That said, the best way is probably to set up a network with a few machines for yourself. Set up a few machines with a two or three nics each, and play with some simple routing setups. Set up a printer and file server, sharing the same set of files and printers out to multiple client platforms. Install and configure various packages like apache, perl, etc - from the source tarballs. Make your own network cables.
