Keith, It wasn't just you. It seems that it maxes out at some low number of users.. why.. worth investigating, but not at the expense of people being able to get into the meeting. Yeah, ARM for linux has been the "hotness" for a while. Pi definitely brought it to the forefront, but now more and more there are viable arm desktops. As for the AI, there are some FOSS solutions out there that are shockingly amazing. "ollama" is just one of them. No need to pay NVidia for AMD for the privilege. Tim. Next meeting February 9th

Hey Gang, Our next meeting is the 9th! I've been doing some interesting work on the clustering filesystem GFS2 if people would be interested in that... iscsi/iser infiniband using a 100gb file in tmpfs on one machine as a filesystem device on three other machines. So, I can talk cogently about setting up icsi, setting up gfs2 and about tuning such a thing. I also wrote a filesystem testing tool called "death by infinite paper cuts" to iterat I've still got my git methodology slides if people are interested in that as well. I was given a kinect to play with. Though I've got two weeks I might be able to do something interesting with that! I could get into this type of meeting. In fact, watching the time it takes to do a Gentoo install vs say Knoppix is prat of the fun. I can also provide some Yellow Dog Linux 3.0.1 Cds for anyone interested in trying to run Linux on a PPC. I'd like to see how Fedora Core install is progressing these days. I have SUSE 9.1 Pro sitting here that I'd also like to see run, if anyone has some guts and a machine. :) I can even see about bringing along a PC that can use a new install. Also, can the gentoo build work via distcc? I'm wondering if we can leech some cycles opff idle laptops to speed the Gentoo build up.
