Per the post that Dennis made about his porting of Lady Bug using the LÖVE framework, I started looking at it. It's pretty damn cool and it looks like the barrier to entry to making simple games, etc. is really really low. I think it might be worth a talk. Would this be something we could submit to flathub? https://github.com/flathub/flathub/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md#submitting-a-... I could help with packaging this if you want! - Josh On Sun, Mar 19, 2023, 1:04 PM Tim Keller via WLUG <wlug@lists.wlug.org> wrote:

I've created a flatpak manifest for this game: https://gist.github.com/joshua-stone/a8fab26c64f4589baaef912cf34108e9 Upstream should eventually include desktop icons (PNG or SVG) as well as metainfo files, but this technically works for local builds. Does the runtime automatically include love? I don't see anything in the yml that install love. I've been meaning to look into building flatpaks but haven't had the chance. The version you are building has the copyrighted sprites I've removed. I do not recommend that. If you want to put it on flathub I would use my version. Godot engine is very good. I have created new games with that one. I did Pinball Disc Room and Learning Basic on Mars in it. It does do 3D unlike Love but I haven't played with that yet. I don't recommend writing a game engine if you want to make a game just use Godot. Granted even though I recommend it, I have created my own engine for a game even after playing with Godot. The sign of a true programmer! Making their own game engine, "because". Well done all around, this was a fun set of things to see on a monday morning.
