Where to find a software contractor?
HI guys, I know a small businessman who is interested in potentially hiring somebody to write a piece of custom software. He is wondering where he would look to seek out contractors with the right credentials for this small project. He didn't mention too many details, but it sounds like the project will have something to do with bar code scanning, optical character recognition, and some type of graphical interface, most probably in a Windows environment. Where would you look if you were seeking a software professional on a short term contract basis? Thanks, Andy -- Andy Stewart (KB1OIQ) Founder: Worcester Linux Users' Group Founder: Chelmsford Linux Meetup Group President: PART of Westford, MA (WB1GOF)
Hey, I have 5 invitations for Stack Overflow Careers<http://careers.stackoverflow.com/>. If you/the businessman want to take a look, I would be happy to give an invitation. Henrique "nican" Polido. On Mon, Jan 16, 2012 at 8:27 PM, Andy Stewart <andystewart@comcast.net>wrote:

You can also try vworker.com. I'm a programmer on vworker, and this link is an affiliate link (Meaning if she makes them money, i make money too) but I'm referring it because its worthwhile. If she's interested in possibly hiring me, the 2nd link will let her get a quote http://www.vWorker.com/RentACoder/DotNet/SoftwareBuyers/HowItWorks.aspx?txtF... http://www.vWorker.com/RentACoder/SoftwareBuyers/NewBidRequest.asp?lngForcedBiddingTypeId=2&lngCoderPersonId=1738204&txtFromURL=AId_1738204 This e-mail transmission, including any attachments, is intended only for the named recipient(s) and may contain information that is privileged, confidential and/or exempt from disclosure under applicable law. I am subscribed to the boston python programming language meetup group and there are a lot of job ads on their email list. The jobs need to be relevant to the python programming language, but python sounds like as good a language as any for the type of project you describe. http://meetup.bostonpython.com/ A friend of my wife used elance.com.
