Last meeting I mentioned that I was using WSL + an X11 app to develop on windows. Here is the X11 app I use. https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9NLP712ZMN9Q It lets me easily run gnome-terminal and other apps remotely. [image: image.png] <Z>

Thanks.

I run graphical apps via X11 all the time but I don't know why you'd want to run a character terminal remotely when you have a perfectly good local character terminal that you can SSH from...
This is the one I was using before I switched to MobaXTerm. http://www.straightrunning.com/XmingNotes/ It worked ok. I had to set an export to set the default display before it would work but otherwise it was ok, and free. I think it is probably more powerful than I realize but haven't had the time to dig in yet. Plus my WSL install is all mangled currently (another WIP for me). Right now MobaXTerm just works for me so going with it until I can swing back around and absorb this one more. Thanks for the reminder, I'm looking at this and I'm tempted, but I might first try WSL to see if that will do what I need for now.
