Hey Gang, It appears that WPI isn't going to work out for us as a stable place to hold meetings. I have two questions to ask the group. 1. Does the second Thursday still work for people or would a Wed/Fri work better? 2. How far would people be willing to drive? As for the second question, doing some research, Leominster public library has meeting rooms (I'm also a LPL member) and they're open till 9pm. Moreover, Leominster has great afforable places to eat. I believe it's likely too late for me to schedule a meeting at LPL, but I can always call and ask. So I suspect this months meeting (which is going to be this Thursday) will be virtual. Though I'll let people know asap. Let me know what you think, I'd really like some input. Thanks, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".
Tim Selfishly Leominster is closer for us. We can make any evening, whatever works for others works for us. I have access to a conference room at Deven’s MA to host meetings if that is of interest. Its right off route 2. Not as convenient for food place thought this Mexican restaurant gets great reviews. https://www.mybandoleros.com P. For me personally, Worcester area and south of there is the best match. Other areas become difficult. Thursday and Wednesdays usually good, Fridays a bit less. On 7/18/23 18:12, Tim Keller via WLUG wrote:

I can finagle most any night except Wednesdays. Thursday is easiest here. So a vote to stay Thursdays. I will second the vote for closer to Worcester or South. Leominster requires 50+ minutes of farm lands tour each way and logistics to leave earlier. Leaving earlier is harder with sport after school pickup and other commitments. Looking at the replies so far, I'm going to keep the meetings on Thursday. It sounds like more northern places like Leominster might be harder for some and easier for others.. Tim. On Wed, Jul 19, 2023 at 11:08 AM Tim Keller <turbofx@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Tim, I think the issue with WPI has been inconsistent room bookings, especially in May due to the number of large events taking place. Now that those are over it should be relatively* easy to get a recurring reservation in for one of the campus center meeting rooms on a monthly basis. Happy to work with the events office and see what'll work. Thanks, Cara On Thu, 1970-01-01 at 00:00 +0000, Tim Keller via WLUG wrote:

I would like to also suggest Technocopia! http://technocopia.org/ We would love to have the WLUG, and the only reason i haven't attended in a while is because Thursday at 7 is our open house night. I would take responsibility for "booking" the space, as a member I am allowed to host club event's in the space with non-menbers so long as I am there to let everyone in and close up on the way out. I still may not be able to attend every meeting, as I give tours of Technocopia, I do look forward to finally being able to at least pop in and out between tours!
