My son's cub scout den put together an arcade machine for the Build It pin. It worked great. Then the day of the Blue & Gold where we were demoing it, it didn't work. I ended up using my laptop instead of the intended machine. I have now set it up four times on three computers and have discovered the cause of the problem. The machine is running Fedora. It has only one user and he automatically logs in. It is running wayland. Gnome is configured to automatically start EmulationStation. From there you can launch Ostrich Riders or Super Tux Kart. (I wanted only open source games with two players simultaneous preferably cooperative but more games can be put on.) The problem occurs if the machine does not have a mouse plugged in. EmulationStation starts normally but launching either game brings up the login screen. Any idea why a mouse is required and how that restriction can be removed? -- Dennis Payne dulsi@identicalsoftware.com https://social.freegamedev.net/channel/dulsi
