So how do we check easily?
I went to Charter's web site http://www.chartercom.com/ourstory/ourstory.asp and found a "Rules and Policies" link which took me to http://www.chartercom.com/site/rules.asp where they try to spell everything out. I could not see where passing your info onto Microslop clearly fitted in :-) I did find "Charter requests certain personal information at the time you subscribe to Charter Pipeline. Charter requests your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. The personal information is used to manage your account for billing purposes. It is not shared with a third party, except in very limited circumstances such as is required by law or in order to enhance your service experience." Obviously :-) , sharing the info with Redmond would *HAVE* to enhance your service experience! Incidentally, I also found "Click to find out more about Paul Allen's Wired World (TM) just above that "Rules and Policies" link so Charter and Micro$oft seem to be in bed together :-) Life is full of surprises! doug
