I've been using gentoo since the earliest beta versions. Its an amazing distro and i have been very happy with it. I have actually done a few ebuilds myself. Its a very powerful distro with a lot of configuration options that can allow you to really customize your distro. Also the irc channel on openprojects has provided me with more help than any other distro i've tried (and I've triend plenty, over 50 at last count).

boot-cd's kernel doesn't support SMP.
