The problem no device maker wants to admit is that having a usb protrusion sticking out the side of a laptop is dangerous. The expresscard and sd card slots at least recess into the laptop for safety. But thanks for the feedback! ________________________________ From: Jorden Mauro <jrm8005@gmail.com> To: Worcester Linux Users Group <wlug@mail.wlug.org> Sent: Sat, January 30, 2010 4:50:01 PM Subject: Re: [Wlug] GPS On Sat, Jan 30, 2010 at 4:46 PM, Mike Leo <mleo963@yahoo.com> wrote:
Great idea, but it has an sd card reader built in!
I went looking for other expresscards and there don't seem to be too many varieties out there. I guess, as a port, it just couldn't compete with USB.
It's a lenovo s10, and I really like it. My only complaint is the keyboard is a little smaller than other netbooks, but other than that it does it all!

I have a great little Lenovo netbook and I haven't found a good use for the expresscard 34 slot
I've been researching GPS devices but can't find an ExpressCard 34 style GPS device.
I could get a normal GPS device with a screen and junk, but that would defeat the purpose of my search.
Does anyone have experience with using a laptop with a GPS device?
FYI: I already have maxed out the ram and have a 150gig hard drive, plus a webcam and bluetooth...if anyone can think of a better use of the Expresscard, I'd like to hear that, too!
Ciao
If it has no SD slot, you can get an expresscard34 multicard reader for cheap. It's a boon if friends/family/self have lots of cards and cameras and whatnot. _______________________________________________ Wlug mailing list Wlug@mail.wlug.org http://mail.wlug.org/mailman/listinfo/wlug
