Re: Ideas for the next WLUG meeting

by John Stoffel

Josh, This is a great start for a talk, I really like your example of setting up duc, though you don't need to build the cache yourself with tcbmgr, duc should do that itself on startup. I may borrow your docs and testing things out and update the duc docs as well, since I think what you've done here is really neat. Looking forward to trying to make the next meeting, though December thru February will be tough for me due to other commitments. John

Hey everyone, Have we decided on a day for the next club meeting? I'm interested in demonstrating some new material for it, if not for January. -Josh

WLUG Meeting March 12th 2019!

by Tim Keller

Hey Everybody, We've got a meeting! Date @ Time: March 12, 2019 @ 7pm Location: WPI Student Center Rm 129 (Chairman's Conference Room) at the bottom of the stairs. Topic: TBD but I thought we might talk about subsonic and plex. I guess we should also talk about people working remotely and the technologies that exist on linux for remote desktop access as well. Refreshments and snacks will be provided and we'll head off for dinner afterwards. Sorry for the last notice. Later, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".

Re: Virtual meeting today! Starting at 7pm, via Jitsi!!

Joel via WLUG <wlug(a)lists.wlug.org> writes: > Not going to make it to tonight's conference. Neither will I. I think I approve of Jitsi, but I need all the computers to keep working. I am afraid to try something new, for fear of breaking something. I have never used the camera on this laptop. I did no preparation nor downloaded anything, but for the L of it I put the URL into the browser, https://meet.jit.si/WlugMA. It displays a grey rectangle. Tell the mailing list how it worked. -- Keith

recent post, Technocopia, hybrid meetings

by Chuck Anderson

I removed & banned the drive-by-spammer. Here is Technocopia's website for those interested: https://technocopia.org/ I like the idea of Hybrid meetings--some participants remote and some in-person. It's hard to do well, though. Does Technocopia have a videoconferencing setup with an in-room camera/mic system, projector, and PC that could join Jitsi? Maybe we could help them set one up.

Thanks everybody, last nights virtual meeting was great!

by Tim Keller

Hey Everybody, The mailing list is working again, thanks Chuck! Last night's meeting was great! It was fun to nerd out with everybody. Unless things drastically change, I suspect we'll be virtual for October as well. Later, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".

Next WLUG Meeting! Oct 15th NOT the 8th.

by Tim Keller

Hey Everybody, I've decided to push the meeting off to the 8th. This is mainly because the second week of October snuck up on me and because I have conflict that night. Hopefully by then I'll have a little project I've been working on ready to show off. Later, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".
