I thought this month we might talk a bit more about some more practical linux desktop stuff. Next Month on the 2nd and 3rd Thursdays I have conflicts. So.. the next possible Thursday would be the 22nd.. Another option is that we shift the meeting to Wednesday for this month on the 14th? I know that isn't an "Free Hack" day at Technocopia, but I think we can work something out. What would people like to do? John texted me this morning that there's a nor'easter on the way. The weather people, who are using Linux to run the large models are predicting heavy rain and winds, localized flooding, etc. I care more about the members of this group than keeping to a schedule. I use Plex and would love to learn more about it, and about similar things, such as Kodi. I'm also interested in Bitcoin, though, mostly, I want a way to recover the Bitcoin wallet I created (and lost all info for) a couple years ago. However, I realized at the time of the last meeting, that Thursday nights are also open shop night at Worcester Earn-a-bike, which creates a conflict for me. how far into the gentoo install can you get? Is the last step the long process? I can volunteer a fast machine if we could get most of the way thru at the meeting and I can just kill it at the end. Or is every step along the way very time consuming?
