Next WLUG meeting proposal

Guys, Tim & I both have conflicts on alot of Thursdays in May for the regular WLUG meeting. We'd like to see how people feel about moving it to either May 8th or May 15th instead this month. We're still checking with Technocopia to make sure we will have access on either of those days, but we wanted to reach out and make sure the rest of you are ok with this change. Hey Everybody, We've got a meeting tomorrow! Time: 7pm Date: September 12th, 2024 Physical Location: 44 Portland St, Worcester MA Topic(s): Last month we dove into the history of Linux distros. I thought this month we might talk a bit more about some more practical linux desktop stuff. How to install software, window managers, etc. Then I thought we might dive into filesystems with a foray into LVM. Afterwards we'll head out for dinner and keep up the conversation! I use Plex and would love to learn more about it, and about similar things, such as Kodi. I'm also interested in Bitcoin, though, mostly, I want a way to recover the Bitcoin wallet I created (and lost all info for) a couple years ago. However, I realized at the time of the last meeting, that Thursday nights are also open shop night at Worcester Earn-a-bike, which creates a conflict for me. how far into the gentoo install can you get? Is the last step the long process? I can volunteer a fast machine if we could get most of the way thru at the meeting and I can just kill it at the end. Or is every step along the way very time consuming?
