Thanks for a great meeting last night!

As usual at WLUG, we went off on a tangent and it was amazing.. What started out as a side conversation about storage technologies turned into 1.5 hour conversation about LVM / ZFS on Linux / Ceph / GlusterFS / Synology / FreeNAS / NetAPP and the general philosophies around managing scalable storage at home and in the enterprise! This conversation continued at the Boynton and was great fun! Next meeting is the 10th of October! If people are interested I could go into detail about the new 355tb zfs on linux system i just deployed and the issues I ran into and the bug/behavior reports I've put I to the Zol team. Josh, This is a great start for a talk, I really like your example of setting up duc, though you don't need to build the cache yourself with tcbmgr, duc should do that itself on startup. I may borrow your docs and testing things out and update the duc docs as well, since I think what you've done here is really neat. Looking forward to trying to make the next meeting, though December thru February will be tough for me due to other commitments. John

WLUG Meeting March 12th 2019!

Hey Everybody, We've got a meeting! Date @ Time: March 12, 2019 @ 7pm Location: WPI Student Center Rm 129 (Chairman's Conference Room) at the bottom of the stairs. Topic: TBD but I thought we might talk about subsonic and plex. I guess we should also talk about people working remotely and the technologies that exist on linux for remote desktop access as well. recent post, Technocopia, hybrid meetings

I removed & banned the drive-by-spammer. Here is Technocopia's website for those interested: https://technocopia.org/ I like the idea of Hybrid meetings--some participants remote and some in-person. It's hard to do well, though. Does Technocopia have a videoconferencing setup with an in-room camera/mic system, projector, and PC that could join Jitsi? Maybe we could help them set one up.
