Next Meeting May 14th, 2015!

by Tim Keller

Hey Gang, The next meeting is on the 14th. We still don't have a speaker lined up. I know there was some interest in ZFS vs. XFS vs. JFS. I'd expressed some interest in 3d printing and what OSS software was on the market. Chunk, do you have an alternative location lined up for us? Thanks, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".

Next Meeting Topic: ZFS on linux?

by Tim Keller

Hey Gang, Would people find it interesting in doing either a ZFS centric meeting, or doing a compare/contrast Linux file system bonanza? Thanks, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".

Sounds good to me, and the comparison part would be timely with RHEL7 pushing XFS. ---- Sent from my Android device with K-9 Mail. Please excuse my brevity. Next Meeting June 11th, 2015: Topic: ZFS on linux

by Tim Keller

Hey Everybody, Our next meeting is going to be on June 11th, 2015 @ 7:00pm. The topic is going to be "ZFS on linux". What is ZFS? ZFS is a logical volume manager (LVM), raid subsystem and a file system combined. I'll be doing a deep dive on how ZFS works on linux, it's strengths and weaknesses. Snacks and refreshments will be available. I'm working with Frank to verify the location. Thanks, Tim. -- I am leery of the allegiances of any politician who refers to their constituents as "consumers".
